US Coast Guard Fuel Line Testing
CommTank was brought in to work on this project by the Campbell Construction Group. The task was to drain and inspect the fuel lines that were reported to have oily water in the secondary containment piping. CommTank first had to disconnect and drain the primary fuel line. Then we filled the lines with Nitrogen and tested them at operating pressure to make sure they were not leaking. The next step was to drain the secondary containment and place the oily water in drums. The secondary containment line failed to hold pressure so Commtank recommended that 100 feet of the fuel oil supply pipe and secondary containment be replaced.
